After the assessment has been completed the clinician must develop a treatment plan that focuses on improved intelligibility or enhanced naturalness of speech. Practical treatment techniques will be described for treating problems in all five of the sub-systems.Learner Objectives
Participants who successfully complete this activity will be able to:
- Describe the difference in reduced intelligibility and reduced naturalness of voice
- Discuss evidence-based practice
- Establish treatment goals for a variety of types of problems
- Discuss techniques to improve deficits in each of the five sub-systems
- Differentiate between facilitation and compensation techniques
- State environmental modifications useful in improving intelligibility
