Objectives
The goal of this program is to provide PTs with information regarding yoga as a complementary therapeutic approach to treatment of children with special healthcare needs. After completing this module, you will be able to:
- Define the five major components of a yoga program designed for a child with special healthcare needs.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the philosophy and benefits of yoga for children with special healthcare needs.
- Describe two physiologic processes to explain the science of the breathing used to promote relaxation during the practice of yoga.
