I have been busy for the past few weeks, so I’ve only discovered these (not so) new free courses for Speech-Language Pathologists from Super Duper Publications.
A. Color Me Fluent (0.2 CEUs)
Course Instructor: Alice Anne G. Farley M.Ed., CCC-SLP, BRS-FD
Color Me Fluent is a concrete, sequential and color-coded program children and adults who stutter. Family education and speech modeling are foci for treatment in young children. For school-aged and older clients, fluency shaping and stuttering modification are taught creatively by means of the umbrella of orange speech and the 25-50-25 rule. A 154-page manual as well as a therapy kit and CDROM are included with numerous exercises and templates.
B. Emergent Language and Literacy Assessment (ELLA): Foundations and Applications (0.2 CEUs)
Course Instructor: Elisabeth H. Wiig Ph.D.
The presentation will cover the theoretical foundation and research of contributing factors in normal development of early reading skills. This will be followed by a description of the ELLA model, areas assessed and statistical characteristics. Sections and subtests will be reviewed and clinical-educational case reviews will be provided.
C. Utilizing Practical Stuttering Materials in School-Age Stuttering Therapy-Review of Focus on Fluency (0.1 CEUs)
Course Instructor: Kristin Chmela, M.A., CCC-SLP, BRS-FD
This presentation highlights the various ways materials from Focus on Fluency are used to implement therapy goals for school-age children who stutter. Various activities from aspects of therapy will be demonstrated through description as well as videotaped examples.
